As communicated earlier this month, the U.S. government’s additional 25% tariff on imports, which will be imposed as an “ad valorem tax,” from India officially went into effect on August 27. This increase will bring the effective tariff on Indian goods to 50% which will be applied to all inbound shipments on their final leg of transport on or after August 27 and will remain in place until a policy change is announced.
Over the past several months, we have been contingency planning to navigate these increases. After careful evaluation, we believe our best option—when balancing quality and cost—is to continue working with our Indian partners. We remain hopeful that tariffs will be reduced to a more reasonable rate in the near future.
Please contact your sales representative to discuss how these tariffs may impact your future orders.
Thank you for your understanding and continued partnership. We will continue to provide updates as things change.
