Recycled Products Bulk Bags

Bulk bags (FIBCs) are a cost-efficient, durable, and flexible packaging solution for recyclable products from PET flakes and glass cullet to crumb rubber and paper fiber. FlexSack’s recyclable products bulk bags are engineered to protect material value, control dust and moisture, and simplify handling across the recycling supply chain. We also offer custom recyclable-content bag options and can advise on preparing used bags and material streams for recycling.

What Recyclable Products are Commonly Shipped in FIBCs?

Recyclable product streams vary by industry and end-market. Common examples include:

PET Flakes/rPET Pellets

Clean flake or reprocessed pellets used by compounders and exporters. Packaging note: inner polyethylene liners and dust control are recommended.

Plastic Scrap & Film (shredded or baled)

Shredded film, flakes, and baled reclaim that benefit from heavy-duty bags or specialized palletizing.

Glass Cullet

Clean, sorted glass fragments for remelting are often moved in stackable baffle bags with abrasion protection.

Crumb Rubber/Tire Crumb

Granular rubber used for turf infill, molded rubber, or energy recovery. Packaging note: abrasion-resistant fabric and reinforced stitching are recommended.

Paper & Cardboard Fiber (reclaim)

Loose or baled fiber moved in duffle/open-top FIBCs; ventilated options can help when drying/airflow are needed.

Recyclable Aggregates & Fines

Recycled concrete or asphalt grindings. Packaging note: Heavy and dense materials like these are best handled in high-capacity, square-profile FIBCs.

Why Use Bulk Bags for Recyclable Streams

  • Protect Material Value: Clean, sealed packaging prevents contamination that lowers feedstock value.
  • Durability for Abrasive or Heavy Streams: Reinforced fabrics and extra stitching reduce bag failures and product loss.
  • Support Circularity: We offer bag options with verified recycled content (rPP/rPET) and can advise on closed-loop or take-back workflows for used bags. Examples of industry closed-loop efforts and rPP/rPET FIBCs are in active use globally.
  • Efficient Handling & Export Readiness: Standard bag sizes, strong lift loops, and stackable designs speed warehouse flow and shipping.

Recommended Bag Types for Recyclable Products

If You’re Shipping… Recommended Bag Style Why This Works
PET Pellets or Reprocessed Plastic Pellets Square, Baffled Bulk Bags
    Top Options: Duffle or Spout
    Bottom: Spout Discharge
The square shape helps bags stack securely and maximize container space. Spout options allow controlled filling and clean discharge of pellets.
Plastic Flake, Chunk, Chop, or Regrind Tubular Bulk Bags (coated fabric)
    Top Options: Duffle or Spout
    Bottom: Spout Discharge
Strong, coated fabric handles irregular shapes and sharp edges. Standard footprint works well for palletizing and export shipping.

    FAQ

Yes. Most FIBCs are woven from polypropylene (PP), which is recyclable where industrial PP recycling is available. Clean, dry, and sorted bags are easiest to reprocess. FIBCA provides resources and lists of recyclers.

Yes. rPP and rPET are commercially available and being used in circular solutions; production quality and suitability depend on application and required performance. We can specify recycled-content fabrics and advise on testing.

Use heavy-duty, abrasion-resistant FIBCs with reinforced stitching and either spout or open tops, depending on discharge equipment. Secure palletization and container lashing can help protect loads.

Yes. We can help design a take-back workflow or refer you to vetted recyclers (see FIBCA resources), depending on your geography and volumes.

Include material description, moisture sensitivity notes, recommended liner type, and any batch/lot or quality certificates. This helps buyers and recyclers assess acceptance and reduces disputes.
